a brief storyline

Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a flirty carnaval magician, is hurled away to Land of Oz. Then he meets two witches sister, Theodora (Mila Kunis) - Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and a good witch, Glinda (Michelle Williams). According to a great prophecy, Oz is a wizard who can help Land of Oz get back its peacefulness city. He's the wizard that everyone's been expecting. Evanora offers him tons of coin and throne as long as he can defeat the witch. Oz doesn't know that the witch he must kill is Glinda, which is the good ones. Will Oz help Glinda or Evanora?



a fair review

The story begins with black and white scenes which strengthen the oldies plot of Kansas past years. Then, it slowly changes into deep colorful of flora and fauna in the land of Oz. Disney is doing a good production in CGI and 3-D effects parts. When Oscar arrives in Oz, everything is so wonderful like magical world. Marvelous CGI & 3-D effects, but sometimes they are too much colour. The setting looks similar like Alice in Wonderland.

James Franco plays a flirty magician who has big dream about becoming the great one. I think he did a good job portrays Oz. I just don't like his smirk smiles, hahaha. Mila Kunis who acts as Theodora also did a great job. Her performance as a wicked witch with Rachel Weisz is quite good. While Mila Kunis is very seductive ( because of her sexy boobs, ups ), Rachel Weisz is very freaky ambitious. I like them. Last, Michelle Williams as Glinda The Good is very brightly and shiny. She fits the role perfectly as the queen. The dresses help the character's tone of Evanora and Glinda so much.

While on the road to save Land of Oz, Oscar meets up some new friends, like the winged monkey, Finley, and China girl which is made from porcelain. I like these character so much, the monkey is funny while china girl is so childish. Oh, besides them, there are also flying baboons which are so scary. Ah, I'm enjoying so much this movie with its graphic detail.

a brief closure

This movie is very serviceable to younger audience than older audience. I recommend you to watch this movie in 3D. It's very worth because you can see how the images pop-up nicely. I enjoyed traveling Land of Oz, it's very memorable because of its digital graphic, but sometimes it's too much colorful. A wonderful travelling to Land of Oz, but not so great and powerful.
